TPI Wraps up 2010 Summit Series with Increased Attendance, Optimism

WINNIPEG, CANADA – Travel Professionals International (TPI), Canada’s largest network of independent travel consultants, concluded its cross-country fall training series, TPI 2010 Summit, with attendance up 25% over 2009 and a general consensus that business is rebounding.

TPI 2010 Summit visited seven cities across Canada throughout October and November, bringing Associates in-person training from invited speakers, members of TPI’s management team, and preferred partners on need-to-know trends affecting the industry, new TPI program offerings, and best practices for business success. In addition, TPI offered an optional add-on day for Associates to take part in one-on-one meetings with TPI Training and Development Managers to create a personalized development plan outlining their training and marketing goals.

“Travelling from coast to coast, we received so many positive comments from agents not just on their feelings regarding TPI but also in regard to the recovering economy and their personal sales increases,” said Melanie Carter, TPI Training & Marketing Manager.

Keynote speaking at the TPI 2010 Summit was Cory Andrichuk, travel industry veteran and President of brandUcoaching Inc. – a business coaching practice that inspires and motivates travel entrepreneurs to find their unique brand.

“It was a pleasure to go cross-country and see firsthand how passionate and knowledgeable TPI consultants are about their business,” said Andrichuk.

TPI 2010 Summit events were held in Halifax, NS; Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Richmond, BC; Toronto, ON; Saskatoon, SK; and Winnipeg, MB.

Preferred partners supporting the events included Thomas Cook Group and Transat Holidays, as well as RBC Insurance, Air Canada Vacations, Princess Cruise Lines, WestJet Vacations, and many more.
